There are an estimated 110 million children around the world who do not attend primary school - more than 60 million of them are girls. Touched by this reality and determined to give back, SBDC, the all-female Montreal dance troupe, set out to help make a difference. SBDC was proud to present their full-length production “ENSEMBLE”, intended to raise both funds and awareness for the 60 Million Girls Foundation, a Montreal-based organization dedicated to improving access to basic education for girls in developing countries.
SBDC’s ENSEMBLE production was an inspiring show about the struggles and joys of women from around the world, celebrating their togetherness, resourcefulness, and power.
In addition to original choreography performed by SBDC, the production included a message from the television reporter and media personality Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, and featured performances by Montreal-born songwriter, producer and composer David Hodges and Canadian singer/songwriter Jeanette Arsenault, as well as dancers from Collège Sainte-Anne and Macdonald High School.
